Imagine a Future Where We've Won

In June of 2022, we brought the concept of Mnisota 2055 to life at Northern Spark. Through an interactive installation, we asked people to step inside this just and sustainable future. Artist Dio Cramer created posters from projects she envisioned from this future–a forest school, US Bank stadium transformed into a food forest, free warehouses, music lessons, community meals, and more.

Designer FabrikMarge showed her upcycled and repurposed fashion, which people were encouraged to try on, and to take selfies in these future fashions. Minneapolis muscian Lady Midnight hosted an hour long jam session, where she turned the exhibit into a shared community music space of the future.

Finally, people were asked to write themselves a postcard from this future, which we would mail back to them months later. We asked—what’s worth fighting for in this future, what do you want yourself to know?
